running in TX

This morning I headed out for my run at 6:05am.
I was excited because I had told myself FOUR miles at a faster pace.
As the garage door went up, the heat started coming in...then BAM! the humidity took my breathe away...
GROSS.
I started off at a pretty good pace, after mile 1 I picked it up a bit and was in a pretty good groove.
The sun started peaking out and then the humidity started to make it difficult to catch my breathe and there was NO breeze....NONE!
I made my four miles, but was DRENCHED in sweat and had to take five or six breaks to take deep breaths, since the air was so thick.
JUST GROSS.

I remember one blogger said Texas running was like running through SOUP. I'll never forget that comment because it's SO true. Like a big, hot bowl of soup! You can't breathe and you can't even get a nice breeze to come by and cool you off :(

**Ok, enough complaining...I'm off to take a super COLD shower and then get ready for my cousin's wedding. My oldest son is Ring Bearer today @ 4:30, so TOO MANY pics coming soon**
Thanks for all of the QUINOA tips, I'll try it again this week :)
How is your running weather?

Great job on getting out in the heat and humidity for your run. Even though it was miserable, I am sure you felt gratification for doing it. Enjoy your time at the wedding!

Great job getting out there despite the heat and humidity! Same here in Georgia, just have to grin and bear it!

I don't know how you do it!! Running in Texas in the summer is an experience I don't want to repeat. It is hot here now but always cool in the morning. There are good things about altitude I suppose. Keep up the good work, you rock!

It's actually like that in Ohio right now. I'm not sure if I went for a run or a swim today.

Exactly the same in Ohio! Like running in soup is a perfect description. Yesterday we left at 5:30 am for 15 miles. We were drenched within the first few miles.

Ugh. I cant run at all right now. Hubby isnt here to help and it is to hot to have the kids out that long. I cant wait for it to cool off so I can get my booty back in gear.

I agree!! I'm not running at this point in pregnancy..but I do feel like I am walking in soup. It's HOT!!! here in Texas!

Every once in a great while, we do get a breeze...not a cool one..but it's a breeze nonetheless!

Good luck to your son at the wedding.

The weather on the East Coast has been horrendous as well. Great job getting through your run. I wanted to stop by and thank you for your kind words on my page. Much appreciated.

I feel for you. Iowa has been terrible, and I can only make it a couple miles before I just have to stop because I feel like I literally can't move through it! It's a little cooler today, so I'm attempting an outdoor run again - in the hopes of getting "acclimated". Of course as soon as I do, Iowa will skip the entire fall season and go from 80 to 25 degrees in two weeks!
