Goals for 2012

As I reflect back on 2011, I can't help but start to focus and set goals for the New Year!  You all know that training is underway for my first half marathon that takes place in 2012, so that is definitely at the top of my list:

  • FINISH the Aramco Half Marathon(Houston, Texas) -January 15, 2012!
  • GET INVOLVED in my community!  I want to find ways to spread the word about health and fitness in my area.  Organizing a health fair, local 5K or family walk/run, anything to get our community ACTIVE, together!
  • Start teaching aerobics at a local gym.  I miss that part of me.  I used to love the music and the motivation of being an aerobics instructor...I gotta update my certification and get back into it!
  • Tone up my tummy!  It's not a pretty sight when bathing suit season comes around...so I need to take my core to a whole different level in 2012!
  • Take my running to the next level...possibly a full marathon?  Hmm...not so sure about that!
  • Expand The Move It Momma!  I'd like to reach a larger audience in many different ways!  The possibilities are endless, but there's one thing that I know...when I started this blog, I decided that THIS was something very important to me.  Sharing my story, my struggles, my successes was something that helped others relate.  Helped others know that change is possible.  Helping my readers get the tools they need for success!  Knowing that this blog has allowed me to reach and inspire others...it's THE greatest feeling in the world.
What's on your list for 2012?
Follow through with things that you want in life.  Keep those goals in mind with everything that you do.  Make THIS the year for something great...a weight loss success, a healthier way of life, a healthy life for your children, quitting smoking, heart-healthy eating...anything!  The sky is the limit!  Set your goals to where you WILL achieve great things in 2012!  We can do it TOGETHER!  How will you make 2012 your healthiest year EVER?

Ha! I've been thinking a lot about goals the last few days....mostly about this year's goals every time I step on the scale....goal was to lose 10 pounds, I only lost 5. But I gave it my all, and I'm not going to do it the unhealthy way by starving myself, so I'll just have to be happy with the small movements of the scale and continue the progress next year!

A full marathon is not in my future until the kids require considerably less attention from me. But I will run another half (or maybe several) and am looking forward to creating an awesome Youth Track Club in our community.

I have also been thinking about 2012. I need to really consider what I did in 2011 and decide what I want out of next year. Big things, hopefully!!!

Great goals Marissa! I love how passionate you are about helping people realize their fitness potential! I think once you finish the half you might be wanting to do a full!

My big goal is a an Olympic distance tri and maybe(???) start working towards a half iron man. But we will see, after so much time off from running I feel like I will be starting off 2012 at square one.

To be honest, I'll be happy to have a healthy baby and get back in to 5K shape by the end of 2012. I'll start training for another half in 2013, hopefully. Oh, and I'm hoping to lose the baby weight (and trying not to gain an unnecessary amount of it) by the end of 2012.
