great running weather, winners and some thoughts...

oh my goodness, like I said before this potty training my youngest son has kept me away from the computer because every time I get ready to sit down and post, he's running to me, shouting "Mommy, I gotta go potty!"

I am so overwhelmed by all of you and your participation in my second virtual race, the Spring Fever!  THANK YOU all so much for taking the time, signing up and giving this race your all!  Yay, can't wait for another...so here are the winners of these great giveaway items!

Thanks again to all of you for participating and I'm emailing winners now, you have 48 hours to respond!  Congrats to you!!!

Today's Workout:  the weather has cleared up here in Texas, so a nice 5 mile run while pushing my son in the jogging stroller was just what I needed!  He kept turning around telling me to run faster...my boys sure can motivate me to get that extra calorie burn!  LOL!  Then I came home and did one round of the 12 minute workout challenge and I have to admit, my tummy was a bit sore from the 4-rounds yesterday!

Today's Bite It, Write It:  seems I need to take my own advice and go back to my saying, If I bite it, WRITE IT!  I seem to hold myself accountable with the foods I eat by writing every last calorie down on paper!  So, we'll see how this works for me!  As I've said before I'm frustrated with the stand-still when it comes to weight loss, but it DOES NOT mean I'm giving up!  This lifestyle change was and STILL is a way of life and I will always stay on track, with a few hiccups here and there :-)  we're only human, right?

do you have a cow for sale?  ha, I'm only kidding but seriously with all of the "pink slime" and other junk I've been seeing when it comes to processing...I can't help but feel grossed out when I look at ALL processed goods...
but would my husband and I be able to adapt to a REAL food diet? Lisa @ 100 Days of Real Food  has a great website dedicated to her family's experiences with ZERO processed foods and she shares incredible made-from-scratch recipes that her whole family loves!

What about YOU?
Great workout today?

Do you count or write down your food intake each day?

Could you and your family adapt to a zero-processed way of life?

Congrats to all the winners!

My workout was Spin this morning. I am thinking of maybe doing JM Shred it with weights tonight - but might also do nothing.

I am a calorie counter. It helps keep me in check.

My family would not like me much if I forced a 0% processed food rule, but we are getting better overall as a family.

Lots of lucky winners!

Yeah, there's some nasty stuff going into our food chain via processing. I do my best to stay away from it and find that I don't really crave it.

Thanks so much! And congrats to the other winners and to everyone who took part. We are all winners!

I do write down everything I eat and sometimes I am amazed at the amounts! I am so hungry lately.

Don't give up!

WW has a Simply Filling Technique that concentrates on REAL food and I do try to follow it occasionally for a week at a time. It is hard but doable and so much less expensive too, really, to eat this way.

Processed food, especially of the animal variety freaks me out so we try to avoid it.

I am counting calories and I need to, I'm at a plateau and the only way a change is going to happen if I stick to the calories/exercise.

Congrats winners! I had a good time running this race! Thanks for hosting!

Bite it, write it. I have never heard that term, but I like it. I keep track of my food on LoseIt and I find that it keeps me MUCH more accountable! Even if I eat badly, at least I see what I am doing and can work on keeping a balance!

Congrats to everyone who participated, and to the winners as well! I had a good workout today, nothing special. Our family is slowly getting rid of all our processed foods. But after the pink slime stuff, I am definitely switching to the grass-fed cattle farm down the road from us. They might be more expensive than Walmart, but at least only put real beef in their ground beef!

It is so hard to blog or do ANYTHING while potty training. Your life starts and stops with the potty!
Good Luck!

I wish I could say that I have been working out like I should, however I have been terrible, but we are currently remodeling TWO houses and that alone (along with 5 boys) is a workout! ha ha!

I adopted a non processed and now vegetarian lifestyle but my family, not so much. They have made small changes and overall my lifestyle change has improved their eating too :)

I have a weekly menu without fail and 96% of the time if it's not on the menu I don't eat it. I've been writing weekly menus for so long now it's habit.

Congrats to all of the winners! Off to check out the real food link.

Thank you for hosting - it's always an added bonus to win something.

I try hard to eat real food. As much as possible.

I used to track all my food but I can get a little obsessive, so now I just eyeball things and do my best to not go overboard.

I am dreading potty training... it's coming quickly! Isn't this weather gorgeous? Awesome job on the 5 mile stroller run, that is a serious workout! I wish I could have participated in the run... of course, now my ankle is fine, a week later. :) Next time, for sure!! Oh- and we split up a cow when we lived in Ithaca and it was the perfect way to get good quality beef... I have no idea what's around here, but it's definitely worth checking into. It usually ends up being very reasonably priced, and we thought it tasted better, too.

Sorry I've been MIA on comments/reading blogs...no time lately. I love that you're doing some virtual races, I'll have to get in on the next one. Congrats to all your winners...so fun! I'll check out that ladies site, love the idea of not eating processed foods at all, not sure I could swing it though. It's really challenging for me to cook dinner. Period. :)
