Yesterday's Workout: I've been bad about not logging on dailymile...whoops! Yesterday was a great morning run. No breeze, but it was before the sun came up, so nice and cool! I was jamming on my ipod and totally in the zone(I sound so cheesy when I say that!!!), then I stopped the music and listened to NOTHING! Even cheesier, IT WAS AWESOME!!! It was like I was totally in tune with nature and the things around me. Barely any cars on the street, so very quiet. I could hear birds, waterfalls, My breath, my feet. I was completely focused and thought of nothing. It's sad when thinking of nothing is a beautiful thing, right? Anyway, it was a great 3 mile run followed by 6 week 6 pack 2! And I must be paying for it today because my hip is a little sore and achy :( Yea, so no workouts for me today. I'll take it easy and gear up for a great workout tomorrow!!!

a yummy recipe from my niece!
The other day, my niece's came over for the day to play! I was preparing lunch and the oldest looked at me and said, "Hmmm, got any peanut butter bowls?" I laughed, not sure what in the world she was talking about. What is that? She said, "you take a small bowl and put two spoons PB and drizzle some honey, mix it up and there's your peanut butter bowl!!!" My first thought: She's a genius...what a great, healthy snack for kids! And you know I'm all about finding fun and healthy snacks for my boys! So, we tried it and they LOVED it! She said I made it perfect and it's the yummiest snack in the world! Ha! I'm thinking dried fruit would be SO great in these??! Anyway, our house has a new favorite snack, thanks to her :)

I send this with Kanin to school a couple of times a week but I also add in some apples that he can dip. My kids love PB and honey sandwiches and if you buy local (to you) honey, it really helps with your allergies. My whole family took a teaspoon of local honey each day (or I'd put it on their toast or PB sandwich) this past spring and did not take any Zyrtec, Alovert, Benadryl, etc.
What a great idea for a snack! I think even adults would love it! : )
I'll probably make one when I get home or tomorrow! For some reason, honey mixed with PB sounds delish!
Oh no, I hope the hip gets better fast! I'm going to go mix some honey in peanut butter and taste this deliciousness.
The peanut butter/honey combo reminds me of a snack we used to have at a sitter...except I think she may have used syrup. Still, we'd eat it on graham crackers. I like the apple idea!
And I love that you gave running without tunes a chance...it's wonderful!
That sounds amazing! Fruit would def sound good also. Ps.. did you just say that you ran BEFORE the sun was up.. amazing.
